Mark is an aircraft engineer, a professional pilot and was in the RAF for many years. He has been lucky enough to visit many countries and now works as a freelance air worthiness consultant.

Karen has been a landlady on and off for 30 years, starting in the East End of London, then Loughborough and ending with a long and happy tenancy at the Star and Garter in Leamington Spa.

They met in 2014 and started searching for the perfect pub. After a long search and several near misses they settled on the Red Lion in Northend as the pub for them.​

Following an initial intensive period of renovation and repairs the pub was re-opened on 2nd August 2018.



We want to become an integral part of the village with events like the extremely successful Children's Christmas Carol Concert being just the beginning of a long and happy association with Northend!
